"Good silk is Lucca silk." |
|
Lucca was a medieval city and the representation of the glorious
coming together of Eastern and Western traditions in silk design.
Lucca produced silk for kings and noblemen, for princes and
warlords, for places of grandeur and places of quiet meditation. At
the height of its fame, "Lucca had as many as 3000 looms and many
times this number of artisans and weavers!!". |
